Your Paleo Practitioner - Dr. Chrystyne Olivieri, has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2004. She began her career in Cardiology, Family Medicine and Endocrinology. She became Nationally Board Certified in Diabetes Education through the NCBDE and is a CDE. She completed her Doctorate in the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes at Stony Brook University, NY.
Dr. Olivieri has focused more of her practice on Functional Medicine. This is a different approach to the patient which focuses on the CAUSE of disease rather than simple symptom alleviation.
With over 30 years of experience in Diabetes Education, Dr. Olivieri has spoken at many Nurse Practitioner conferences. She has been turning the medical world on its side with insights into Functional Medicine. This is a way of helping patients to treat their disease, and not just manage the symptoms of diseases like cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and others.
